Raining. Ruined workout? NO!

Today was my day for an outdoors workout. But it was raining! I didn’t let that ruin my schedule. I grabbed my yoga mat, my jump rope and a nice cool bottle of H2O. Especially on days when you are probably going to eat some extra calories ( I know I am, it being Valentines Day and all) don’t let anything stand in the way of you and breaking a sweat. You can always go to the gym,but I really love my outside workout days. So, don’t let today slip by without getting in that fat burning session. Than you can enjoy that special dinner or yummy chocolates and not even think twice. Happy Valentines nibbling from my workout to yours… Xoxo…

Switch it up today…

Such a bright beautiful day sunny, warm, the wind has just the right flow and it is another day to stay on track. However, today for a change of pace and to spice things up, why not go for a hike instead of your normal workout routine. Getting out in the open air can make you feel fresh and invigorated. A nice long hike or trek will bring you home rosie checked and grinning guaranteed! The fresh outdoors really gets the blood flowing, all the muscles moving and the adventure can be fun. All sorts of wildlife to see and the world is coming alive as we near spring…

Today, rough to get going…

So woke up this morning 5:30 am feet dragging not becuase I was tired, but because it was cold and the thought of a morning jog… not fun. Sitting there reluctantly tying my running shoes I realized, hey… not everything is fun all the time… There are days when you don’t want to go to work even if you love you job, there are days you don’t want to cook even if you love cooking… there are even days you don’t want to hang out with your spouse even if you love them… So of course there are going to be days that you don’t want to get up early and get to the gym or go for a run, but guess what? Just like all those others things that you occationally don’t really feel like doing, you do them anyway… So that is where my motivation come this morning, 32 degrees and 6 am being diligant. That is after all what it is about. Being ever vigilant about what you want. And knowing that it is just one short hour out of a life time of many hours. So, stick with it, stick it out. Don’t let today be that day when you don’t succeed. Succeed everyday. Today included… For Your Life…

3 Ways to Help Start the Month Out Right…

Get a jump on your health this month and set some reasonable goals. I know that there are a bunch of us out there that set that pesky New Years resolutions of… Yeah you guess it, losing WEIGHT! And if  you have stuck  with it, I am thinking that right about now you are wavering. And some of us might have failed out right by now and are enjoying (or maybe over indulging) in those beloved Valentine’s Day yummies. And hey let’s face it no one is above a sweet tooth… So this is the time to buckle down and hold out or get back on that horse… 3 First and foremosts…

1) Don’t buy the sweets. If you find yourself cruzing down the isle of chocolates and I love you pops… Stop! If you are craving a sweet, fine. But don’t buy the large variety bag. Instead head for the single servings and save yourself a lot of grieve. Because in the end you know that you will end up eating that entire variety bag and who really needs all that?

2) Break out the running shoes, or keep them out. The weather in February can be amazing! So if you find it tough to get to the gym and you are, well, dragging your running shoes. Go for a walk or run outdoors. The warm sun will get you motivated and make you realize that summer is just around the corner.

3) Make sure that you are drinking enough water. Sometimes in the winter you can tend to forget that part and being dehydrated can lead to feeling hungry. So make sure you are downing the H2O…
